Winter Photo Event January 19th

Hoo’s Woods Raptor Center offers a unique opportunity for you to photograph some of our education raptors including; snowy owl, golden eagle, screech owls, peregrine falcon and flight demos with our barred owl and red tailed hawk. Tallgrass Prairie owners, Meg and Peter Layton, have generously offered the use of their prairie and welcome you to take a self-guided tour afterwards. This session will be led by professional photographers Scott Weberpal and Tracey Leeder who will offer tips and tricks throughout the session. 

Participants will be able to photograph several birds in natural settings. Please note birds will be wearing the required equipment, anklets and jesses for their safety. Flighted birds will be wearing telemetry. You will be sure to capture some spectacular images. This event is dependent on suitable weather conditions for the birds.

Workshop size is limited to 25 participants and are required to have a digital camera. Bring other photography gear such as telephoto lenses, flashes, and a large memory card with plenty of room to store your photographs. ***Participants will not be handling birds and class is limited to registered participants only.
